Vision and Plans for the Garden

Since we discovered it in 2010 our vision for the garden has developed and it is now thriving and successful. Many of our plans, ideas and dreams have become a reality and the once barren plot is now teeming with colour, bees, plants and people.

In 2010, the paths had been laid out and steel-edged, all three sections were lawned and walls were reconstructed but apart from some beautiful trees that were planted along some of the walls the garden was very much a 'blank canvas'. But what a difference a Community can make to a Garden and of course vice versa!

Nevertheless there is always more to do and 2013 sees us bringing bees to the garden under the wing of the North Fingal Beekeepers.

We also have plans to continue to develop the front recreational section. See below some of our (admittedly ambitious) ideas and plans. For now we will fill empty beds with wildflowers and gradually build up the borders.

Vision and Goals

Picture
Whilst there is so much practical day-to-day work to be done it's important not to lose sight of what we are here for and who we are here for.

It looks a bit airy-fairy but it's all based on genuine values which are central to how we develop the garden.

Our original aims remain the same and we strive to ensure we meet these goals with every initiative and improvement in the garden.

Our Members can hold the Committee fully accountable for upholding these basic principles to ensure things don't go askew or personalities become bigger than than the vision.
