I promised to send you a picture of our latest acquisition so for your delight and delectation see below our bee-you-tee-ful new shed. We need to get the floor finished but hopefully that will be done over the next week or so and then it will be ready to for use. Just what we need on these cold, damp days!
Also, some exciting news. Senator Marie-Louise O'Donnell will be visiting the garden next Saturday 31st January from 11am for a few hours. She's going to be doing a piece on the garden for Sean O'Rourke's Today show which airs on RTE Radio 1 weekday mornings. Maybe some of you have heard these segments but if you haven't you can check them out here: http://www.rte.ie/radio1/today-with-sean-o-rourke/podcasts/
It will be a 15 minute piece - she doesn't use live interviews but talks to Sean about events and organisations she has visited.
In order to give her an accurate portrayal of the garden I will need your help. Would you be willing to come and see us next Saturday and maybe talk to her about your experience of the garden, what it has given you and how you think it has contributed to our community? She won't be recording anyone for broadcast, just making a note of her impressions, and she's a very warm and easy person to talk to so even if you don't like the limelight it should be a pretty painless exercise. Your support and a wide range of voices and views would be very welcome.
We will make sure the wood fired stove is lit, the kettle is on and we might even try to rustle up a few bbq sausages and rolls to keep us warm while we're talking. So there's a bit of an incentive for you to venture out!
Thanks in advance and hope to see you all then!
