Just thought I would drop you all a note to say thanks for making today such a great success. We had a great turn out for our Open Day today, lots of visitors and most importantly lots of donations too! We also welcomed two new members. So all in all a very successful day.
Near FM broadcast for three hours from the garden and we had a constant stream of members and friends of the garden who were interviewed. One of our members Noeleen was up with us earlier today but went home to listen to the broadcast and she said everyone was brilliant (not that she was biased or anything!).
So take a bow, Justin, Hans, Jean, Ven, Deirdre, Yvonne, Tony, Aideen, John, Darragh, Susanne, David and star of the show, Jim!
We talked about everything from photography, travel, tree pruning, history, beekeeping, veggies, wildlife preservation, food, recipes and of course our beautiful garden.
We will have a podcast of the programme which Dorothee in Near FM will send onto us next week so I'll send it on then if anyone wants to listen at their leisure. Of course I spent the whole time yakking away to visitors and friends so I didn't have a chance to listen properly myself. So I'm looking forward to catching up on what I missed. Our resident photographer Ven took loads of pictures so I'll get those up on the website and on Facebook as soon as I can.
Thanks also to our wonderful bakers - Liz, Ann, Kay, Mary and Aideen. There was a veritable feast on offer. Thank goodness Brian reinforced our pallet table as it was groaning under the weight of all the goodies but there was very little left this afternoon as we were packing up.
And for those of you who didn't make it up today, the garden we will be open tomorrow for the last day of Heritage Week and weather permitting should be around until at least 2pm.
Have a great weekend and thanks again to all our wonderful members for making it another enjoyable and successful event for the garden.
